Morning: Take a Step Back in Time
Located in Carman on the corner of King’s Park Road and Highway 245, the Dufferin Historical Museum boasts beautifully preserved collections of turn-of-the-century furniture, clothing, tools and weapons, a 1902 fire cart and a 1904 post office, and much more. The museum offers visitors an inside look at the the way of life lived by the area’s settlers and predecessors. While there, you can also tour the 1870’s Sexmith-Morgan log house, or the historic and recently restored Boyne School, located on the museum site.

Stop & Smell the Flowers
Plan your garden and admire the view at Vanderveen’s Greenhouses, famous for supplying Manitobans with poinsettias and bedding plants for more than 30 years, with over one million square feet of greenhouse space offering a dazzling array of bedding plants.
Peruse the perennials, fruit trees and more at Aubin Nurseries Garden Centre. A Manitoba mainstay, Aubin has been growing a stellar selection of plants since 1927.
Lunch: Drive In to Tradition
Enjoy the fresh air while taking in the retro character of a time gone-by with a trip to the famous Syl’s Drive Inn. Syl’s has maintained the authentic look, feel and service of a traditional drive-in while serving up classic favourites like burgers, subs and seriously thick shakes.
Afternoon: Peruse the Prairie Pathway
Take in the truly Manitoban nature and foliage of the area with a stroll along Carman’s Community Pathway. Winding through the community and fully surrounded by nature, the pathway is great for birdwatching and examining flora. Part of the pathway features a river path, in the centre of which is the tall grass prairie, which follows along the meandering Boyne River. The pathway is perfect for walking, jogging biking and skiing.

The Golden Prairie Arts Council fosters and promotes the development of arts and culture in the area and consistently hosts shows, exhibits and concerts.
