RM of Dufferin – Feb 26 PVWC Water Notification

Pembina Valley Water Co-op Notification

The Pembina Valley Water Co-op is experiencing some discoloured water throughout its Stephenfield regional distribution system. Due to upgrade work going on at the treatment plant some operational processes have been changed and as a result occasional coloured water events are possible. Discoloured water can result from routine operations or activities such as watermain breaks and repairs or flow reversals.

We recommend that you do not use discoloured water for any purposes that require clean water, such as drinking, preparing food or doing laundry. Residents are advised not to drink discoloured water or use it for purposes such as preparing food, beverages or infant formula; however, drinking small amounts of discoloured water should not pose a health threat if accidentally consumed.

To determine if the coloured water has passed, turn on the cold water and let the water run for a few minutes. If the water isn’t clear, turn off the tap, wait 30 minutes and try again. If your water still isn’t clear after 2 or 3 hours, please contact PVWC at 1-877-324-1931.

The customers affected (totally or in part) by this situation are as follows:
