Carman Dufferin COVID-19 Response

Town of Carman and RM of Dufferin COVID-19 Response- Cancellations and Postponements Listed at the Bottom of this Page

After meeting with their Municipal Emergency Coordinator, the Town of Carman and the RM of Dufferin will be enacting a number of preventative measures aimed at helping to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to minimize its impact on our health care system and in our community.

We encourage all members of the public to visit https://manitoba.ca/covid19/, which is being updated continuously by the Province of Manitoba with information on its response. Health-related questions or concerns about COVID-19 can also be directed to Health Links – Info Santé at 204-788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257. We encourage all residents to follow public health advice related to self-monitoring and self-isolation if you have traveled or have been exposed to someone ill with the virus and to practice safe social distancing.

The health and safety of our employees and the public, as well as maintaining essential services, are our top priorities. As such, the following facilities will be closed to the public effective immediately:

  • Carman Water Treatment Plant
  • Carman Dufferin Arena
  • Carman Dufferin Fire Hall
  • Town of Carman Public Works Shop
  • RM of Dufferin Public Works Shop
  • Ryall Park Public Washrooms
  • Town of Carman & RM of Dufferin Public Playgrounds

At this point the Transfer Station and Recycling Depots will remain open at their regular hours.

Cancellations, Announcements or Postponements:
Garbage tags can be purchased from Lite Stop and the Homestead Co-op Gas Bar
Transfer Station Hours will remain on winter hours until further notice: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 1pm-4pm and Saturday 11am-4pm, Closed Tuesday and Thursday
Please be advised the following churches in Carman and Graysville are suspending in-person worship indefinitely:
– Carman Crossroads/Elm Creek United
– Carman Mennonite
– Grace St. John
– Carman East Canadian Reformed
– Carman West Canadian Reformed
– Friends Community
– Carman Pentecostal
– Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic
– Graysville Mennonite
– St. Paul’s United Graysville
Many of these churches will be offering online or at home worship resources. Check with individual churches for more details. They also plan to continue to offer pastoral care and social supports.

Town of Carman & RM of Dufferin Public Playgrounds are closed
As per a directive from Provincial Command, the Carman Legion will be closed until further notice.
My Gym gymnastics programming postponed until further notice
Carman Legion Annual Banquet- Postponed
Tempo Festival of the Arts is cancelled for 2020
Carman Family Resource Centre  is closed until further notice
Wednesday Morning Group programs will be cancelled until further notice.
Golden Prairie Arts Council is closed until further notice.
