A brief history
The Carman & Community Chamber of Commerce has been serving the Town of Carman and RM of Dufferin for over 50 years, having registered with Corporations Canada under the Board of Trades Act in May 1969. Since then, its board of directors have worked tirelessly to promote and care for its business members.
That sense of community well-being and collaboration remains strong today, with a board of directors and membership that truly care about our community and its businesses.
The Carman & Community Chamber of Commerce is a diverse group of over 120 businesses all working toward a collaborative goal of economic stability and well-being within Carman and the RM of Dufferin. The Carman & Community Chamber of Commerce puts on and assists with many events throughout the year. They host “lunch and learn” sessions and host evening business events, and every year they assist with Breakfast with Santa, the Halloween Carnival, and the Carman Fair Parade.
Breakfast with Santa
Children and families from the community are invited every year to share breakfast with Santa Claus at the Carman Community Hall. All proceeds go to the Christmas Cheer Board, and the delicious breakfast includes pancakes, sausages, fruit, coffee, tea, and juice.
Goody bags, games, crafts, face painting, and more! The Carman & Community Chamber of Commerce Halloween Carnival boasts loads of spooky fun for the whole family. Local businesses sponsor this event every year, and funds are always raised for a good cause.
Carman Fair Parade
The Carman Country Fair is one of Manitoba’s longest-running traditions, and the fair parade is always a site to behold, kicking off the weekend festivities in colourful fashion. The Chamber takes care of administration for the parade, providing float numbers and appointing marshalls.
