A Manitoba tradition since 1879, the Carman Country Fair is hottest event of the summer, offering motor sports, agricultural exhibits, livestock showcases and demonstrations, arts and crafts, children’s activities and entertainment, live music, rides, and much more.
If you’re a hobbyist looking for inspiration, the fair offers woodworking exhibitions, knitting and crocheting displays, baking and canning booths, a quilting competition, and other fun vocational showcases.
The plethora of food trucks and booths will keep your tummy full of all sorts of delicious delights, from grilled to fried treats to sweet desserts.
You can register to participate in exhibitions or as a vendor until July 8, 2019, at 9 p.m.
Situated right in Carman, King’s Park boasts 44 RV or camper sites (including some with 15- or 30-amp electrical service), which are all located close to the Carman Dufferin Pool, playground, tennis courts, fair grounds, and our beautiful 18-hole golf course.
If you’re looking for camping that feels a little more “remote,” Stephenfield Provincial Park has what you’re looking for. There are six bays of sites, with the option for basic camping, electrical service, and electrical and water service. Plus, you’re right by Stephenfield Lake, which has the Stephenfield Dam, swimming, fishing spots, a boat launch, and a playground. Pets are allowed!
If you’re camping in Stephenfield Park, then you’ve got great hiking all around you, with a hiking trail that surrounds the park and passes right through the campground. For even more of a challenge, the Birch Ski Area trails are open all summer for hiking. There are 25 km of paths for both experts and novices, which lead through valleys and over hills, offering luscious scenery and a challenge walk.
If you enjoy a good stroll but like it a little closer to home, then enjoy Carman’s Community Pathway — a 7 km walkway that winds its way through Carman providing a way to experience nature in the comfort of our town. The pathway also links recreation spaces, like King’s Park, the Carman Dufferin Pool, baseball diamonds, and the golf course.
